Vinveli is a private Unmanned Aerial Vehicle development and manufacturing company with headquarters in Mahé. The company is internally divided into civilian and defense arms, and has offices in Beijing, Chennai, Cedar Rapids and Aigle.

Contents

The civilian arm of the company builds cost-efficient infrastructure for small drones. This technology helps the drones to extend flight time, cover more area, and eliminate the need for manual labor. This is advantageous, especially in the case of remote and inaccessible areas, including oil pipelines, wind farm turbines, and electric lines. The company additionally provides data management and analysis solutions.

The defense arm of the company focuses on building advanced medium or large drones for reconnaissance and combat.

History

Vinveli was formed in May 2013 by Gokul Anandayuvaraj. It was founded to help realize the potential of the CubeSat standard and bring small satellite technologies developed in research institutions to the commercial market.

The company shifted its strategy in early 2014 to focus solely on Unmanned Aerial Vehicles. It has since abandoned its satellite services. Vinveli's vision is that, in the future, airspace will be populated with UAVs ferrying goods to people, while also providing valuable data, interconnected to form an Smart planet.

Vinveli's engineering facilities are located in Beijing and Chennai. It has access to 100 acres (40 ha) of land located 30 miles (48 km) north of Beijing, which is used as a UAV test site.

In December 2014, Vinveli announced strategic partnership with a manufacturing facility in China which expanded its production capacity to 500 vehicles per year.
