Rebecca Walker (born March 2, 1968) is an American politician and a Democratic member of the Delaware House of Representatives since January 11, 2011 representing District 9.

Since March 2015 Dr. Walker has held a position with the Delaware Department of Safety & Homeland Security in the Division of Forensic Science as the Chief Operating Officer.

Education

Walker earned her nursing degree from Delaware Technical Community College, her Master's degree in nursing from Wesley College, her JD from Widener University School of Law, and her PhD from the Medical University of South Carolina.

Elections

  • 2012 Walker was unopposed for the District 9 September 11, 2012 Democratic Primary, and was unopposed for the November 6, 2012 General election, winning with 7,565 votes.
  • 2006 Walker initially ran for the District 9 seat to challenge Republican Representative Richard C. Cathcart, was unopposed for the September 12, 2006 Democratic Primary, but lost the November 7, 2006 General election.
  • 2008 Setting up a rematch, Walker and Cathcart were unopposed for their September 9, 2008 primaries, and Walker lost the November 4, 2008 General election; Cathcart retired at the end of this term, having served from 2001 until 2011.
