  • GWR Castle 5043 'Earl of Mount Edgcumbe'
  • GWR 7752 Pannier Tank (in London Transport livery and numbered L94)
  • GWR 9600 Pannier Tank

  • Vintage Trains has also operated mainline steam locomotives in the past that no longer work on the mainline. These have been withdrawn for various reasons and not all are currently based at Tyseley Locomotive Works:

  • GWR Hall 4953 'Pitchford Hall'
  • LMS Princess Royal 6201 'Princess Elizabeth'
  • GWR Castle 7029 'Clun Castle' (7029 has been withdrawn from the mainline since 2001, but it is expected to make a return in 2014 so it can participate in the recreation of The 1964 Farewell to Steam on the Western railtour (on its 50th anniversary) with 4079 'Pendennis Castle')
  • Also in the past 6 years, Vintage Trains has operated charters using electric and diesel traction that hasn't already been mentioned above, including British Railway's Electric Class 86 86259 'Les Ross', British Railway's Class 47 Diesel 47580 'County of Essex' and British Railway's Class 50 Diesel 50049 'Defiance'. The company has also used various other diesels such as West Coast Railway Company's own Class 33 and Class 47 Diesels.
