Thomas Vernon "Vern" Ayres (April 27, 1908 in Toronto, Ontario – February 18, 1968) was a Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman who played six seasons in the National Hockey League for the New York Americans, Montreal Maroons, St. Louis Eagles and New York Rangers.
