The current license plate of the DRC were issued in 2009. The signs are based on the layout of the euro-mark, but soft with 480 × 112 mm something from European standard size (520 × 110 mm) from. They show in the left margin, the national flag of the DRC and the distinguishing sign of CGO. The combination consisting of four numbers followed by two letters. On the right side are located in a separate box, two digits indicating the detailed origin of the vehicle. In addition, located on the front windshield of the vehicle, a so-called third mark in the form of a 84 × 53 mm large stickers. It repeats the combination of signs and displays the chassis number of the vehicle. The number plates are produced by an offshoot of the German Uch AG and have various security features to make counterfeiting. For example, locale on all letters a hologram foil labeled authentic. The license plates of the Democratic Republic of Congo, black and white, bear the Congolese flag, the symbol CGO, 4 figures, 2 letters and 2 numbers. Old Plates
The old plates have different colors depending on the time. Each wore the initials province where the car was registered, but later the abbreviation of another province could be given by lack of opportunity.
Originally reported the license plate of the DRC yellow text on a blue background. They started with a yellow star, followed by one or two letters. After a point a maximum of four digits appeared. After renaming the country Zaire in 1971, the license plate were changed nine years later. The color scheme changed in accordance with the flag to yellow to green. At the beginning were now two provincial letters followed by four digits and a further letter. When distinguishing signs initially was ZR, later used ZRE. The rear designation Zaire in DRC led 1997 yellow license plates with black writing (430 × 105 mm) and two letters at the end.
