A Coast Guard Air Station provides aviation support for the United States Coast Guard. The Coast Guard operates approximately 210 aircraft from 24 Coast Guard Air Stations in the United States. Fixed-wing aircraft, such as the HC 130 Hercules, are built for long range missions and operate from air stations. The HH-65 Dolphin and Sikorsky HH-60 Jayhawk helicopters also operate from Air Stations, Air Facilities and flight deck equipped cutters.

  • CGAS Los Angeles, California: This air station was established in 1962 located adjacent to the North runway complex of Los Angeles International Airport where 3 HH-65 Dolphin Helicopters are parked in hangars. The USCG & the Los Angeles County Fire Department ocean lifeguards are involved in Helo Operations training on the coast of Los Angeles County, California. It is scheduled to close, and relocate to Naval Base Ventura County (NBVC), in the summer of 2016.
