Life and career
Runyan was born in Vancouver, British Columbia. His father is a retired instructor of Environmental Technology at Kwantlen Polytechnic in Vancouver and his mother is a poet. As a teen, Runyan studied at Emily Carr College of Art (now Emily Carr University of Art and Design) at the same time as he was getting into acting.
Runyan was nominated for a Vancouver Film Critics Circle Award for his work in Various positions.
As a musician, Runyan has been a member of The Beans and The Awkward Stage.
In 2008 he married Sarah Lind.
