Early career
Kalia began his dancing career under the guidance and direction of Shri Santosh Nair, the creative director of ‘Sadhya Unit of Performing Arts’. He is also trained under Canadian choreographer, Brandy Leary for Ariel technique dancing. He has performed with international choreographers for a production in Birmingham, titled, Motherland. Kalia also appeared in Hindi feature film, ABCD: Any Body Can Dance, which did not help him in gaining any recognition because he played the role in versus team. He was also given a chance to choreograph in Karan Johar's recent directorial Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.
Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa
Tushar entered the competition with dance partner, Ekta Kaul, who got eliminated within few weeks of season. Through a Wild Card Entry, Tushar got a chance to re-enter the competition with another celebrity, Sana Saeed.In Jhalak Dikhla Jaa Season 7 Tushar partnered with Shakti Mohan. Tushar's choreography has been praised by panel of judges.
