Turkey participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2011 in Düsseldorf, Germany. Turkey selected their entry through an internal selection, organised by Turkish broadcaster Türkiye Radyo ve Televizyon Kurumu (TRT).

Internal selection

Like in the past years, the Turkish broadcaster TRT held an internal selection. The website eurovisiondream.com run by Turkish Eurovision fans, however, launched an online petition to persuade TRT to hold a national final instead of the internal selection used since 2005. They aimed to reach 10,000 signatures in two weeks.

First TRT chose the performer (Yüksek Sadakat), who would then present three songs to the selection committee, which would make the final choice. The performer was announced on the last day of 2010.

At Eurovision

Turkey competed in the first semi-final on May 10, 2011 but did not qualify for the final. This was the first time that Turkey did not make it to the final since the semi-final system was introduced in 2004. It was the first year that Turkey wasn't present in a Eurovision final since 1994, when they had been relegated due to a poor result in 1993.
