Tudawe brothers corporate video
Tudawe Brothers is considered by the community as one of the oldest construction companies in Sri Lanka with a history of 70 years. It is based in Colombo and operates throughout the country with future plans of entering foreign markets through strategic partnerships.

History
Tudawe Brothers was found by Lawrence de S Tudawe and his brother Dionysius de S Tudawe in 1942 as their family business on partnership basis. In 1947, it was incorporated as Tudawe Brothers Limited under the companies ordinance of 1938.
Milestones
1940 - The business was centred on the construction of personalized private housing and urgent needs of war time buildings.
1950 - The company launched into post independence era buildings.
1960 - The company moved on to construction for major industrial and commercial sectors.
1980 - The Tudawe influence could be seen in office and institutional edifices. The company commenced [[Mechanical, electrical, and plumbing |MEP]], mechanical HVAC, electrical, fire detection and protection system operations.
1990 - Its portfolio further broadened to include apartment complexes; Tudawe Brothers branched out into civil engineering construction activities. The company began to obtain recognition.
2000 - It began construction industry services such as quarry operation, aggregate production and asphalt concrete production, forming a separate division.
2010 - It ventured into the irrigation and water management sector.
Recognition
The company has been awarded the status of "Chartered Building Company" by the Chartered Institute of Building in the United Kingdom in 2012.

Tudawe Children Development Centre
The Tudawe children development centre has started with 11 children who had been neglected and orphaned around the Wadduwa area on 9 June, 1988 by donating property to the All Ceylon Buddhists Congress. This is one of the biggest corporate social responsibility work of the Tudawe Brothers.
