Toužim ( [ˈtou̯ʒɪm]; German: Theusing) is a town in the Czech Republic, upper the river Střela. Initially the Premonstratensian provostery found around 1200, the fortifield town found 1469. Monument: Historical centre with castle, church of the Birth of the Virgin Mary, column of the Virgin Mary, town hall, Middle Ages citizen house, fragment of the town wall. Economy: Metal works and food industry, agriculture, forestry, services. Transport: Main road E49, local railway, internal airfield in Přílezy.
