The Toronto Coalition for Active Transportation (TCAT) was formed in 2006 to give a unified voice to over 43 groups working for a better cycling and pedestrian environment in Toronto. The TCAT plan for active transportation emerged from consultation with environmental, health and transportation groups from across Toronto.

Mission

The Toronto Coalition for Active Transportation (TCAT) works to create a better city for cycling and walking.

Activities

TCAT's range of activities encompass conducting research and developing policy; working with City of Toronto staff and councillors and other governments and agencies; and identifying and communicating opportunities to influence government decision making.

TCAT's major activities so far include the Bike Summit 2008 conference, and the conference, "Bikes as a Public Good: What is the future of bikesharing in Toronto?".
