Early life

Gorny was born in Poland in 1975. Before the age of 20, he established a PC-distribution company in Europe. Three years after forming that company, Gorny immigrated to the United States, working a variety of part-time jobs during those first years in the USA. He then became one of the earliest employees of an Internet company called Internet Communications, which was sold to Interliant (now NaviSite) in 1997.
IPOWER

Gorny started IPOWER as a web hosting company in 2001. Later that year, IPOWER moved its head quarters to Phoenix, Arizona. In 2007, IPOWER was merged with Endurance International Group (EIG), creating a shared hosting company at the time responsible for managing 1.19 million hostnames and more than 580,000 active sites.

Today, IPOWER continues to operate hosting services, domain names, and other services while sharing support information and agents with the over 80 other subsidiary brands of EIG.
Unitedweb
After the sale of IPOWER, Unitedweb was formed by Gorny in 2008. Today, there are two brands managed under the Unitedweb moniker - Nextiva and SiteLock.
Nextiva
Nextiva is a cloud VOIP service,.
SiteLock
SiteLock is a web-security company founded by Gorny under the Unitedweb subsidiary. With the formation of SiteLock, Gorny and co-inventors Hari Ravichandran and Tracy Conrad created an improved software for "selective website vulnerability and infection testing and intelligently paced rigorous direct website testing", according to the patent as published in February 2012. This patented security software, assigned to SiteLock, provides robust website content integrity checking while only lightly loading the website hosting server. The light server load allows for the maintenance of visitor bandwidth availability through selective testing and intelligently paced external website exercising. Then, a modular pod-based computing architecture of interconnected severs configured with a shared database facilitates selective website testing and intelligent direct website test pacing while providing scalability to support large numbers of website testing subscribers.
Today, according to SiteLock's website, their software is the only web security solution to offer complete, cloud-based website protection.
