Tocuyo de la Costa (11 ° 02'13 .67 N 68 ° 22'20 .17 W) is a town located on the banks of Tocuyo River, about 4.64 miles from its mouth in the Caribbean Sea, in the Autonomous Municipality Monsignor Iturriza on the east coast of Falcón State, Venezuela, near the Cuare Wildlife Refuge and Morrocoy National Park.

Etymological Origin
The word Tocuyo (TOO-QUY-YO) according to Fidel Betancourt Martinez, historian from Lara State, is of Caribbean origin and means: TOO: clarity, light, day, sun, sun, comet, Aerolite, Quy: many animals and ugly ( fireflies) and YO: fly.
