Thoppur , Thoppur Ghat) is a village in Dharmapuri district of Tamil Nadu, India. Thoppur is a small village on the Thoppur River, located just north of the border of Dharmapuri with Salem district. Thoppur lies between the city of Salem and the town of Dharmapuri on National Highway 7, at its junction with Mettur Dam Road (SH 20). It is 50 kilometres (31 mi) north of the city of Salem and 164 kilometres (102 mi) south of the city of Bangalore.

Thoppur is known for the Thoppaiyaru Dam, Anjaneyar Koil (Mutthampatty), Rope Winch, and Perumal Kovil (on Vanagunda Hill). and dam named sekarapatti was located 5 km from it Thoppur is the home of the Muslim holy shrine (dargah) of Hazrath Syed Shah Vali Ulla (known as Thoppur Dargha) Devotees from different places visit this place for blessings which are given every Thursday and Friday. Most important and strange thing is: Devotees(of any religion) visiting the dargah should not have Non-vegetarian food on that day as the Dargah is having `Naagha Vana' i.e. Cobra.
Transport
Thoppur lies on National Highway 7, a major north-south highway in India. It is also the terminal point of State Highway 20 which connects to the town of Mettur and the city of Erode. Connected by rail also. Only Passenger Trains will halt at the station which is approx.3 to 4 km? to the town. Easily accessible from Dharmapuri (21 km) or Salem (29 km).
