The album went to number 3 and number 33 on the Black and Pop album Charts respectively. The single Free reached number 25 on the US pop singles chart, number 2 on the R&B singles chart and number 1 on the UK singles chart. T

A digitally remastered version of the album was made available in 2005, and it included 1 bonus track which was a shorter version of Free.
