Theodore Theopolis Jones, Jr. (March 10, 1944 – November 6, 2012) was a judge on New York State's Court of Appeals. Judge Jones was appointed to the court by Democratic Governor Eliot Spitzer in 2007 for a 14-year term.

Education

Jones graduated from Hampton University in Hampton, Virginia in 1965, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Political Science. He served on active duty with the United States Army from 1967-1969 in the Republic of Vietnam. He attained the rank of Captain. He graduated from St. John's University School of Law in 1972.

Jones was elected to New York Supreme Court with a term beginning 1990 until his appointment to the New York Court of Appeals. As a trial judge, he presided over the 2005 New York City transit strike case. His selection for a 14-year term to New York State's Court of Appeals was confirmed by the New York State Senate in 2007.

Jones died of an apparent heart attack November 6, 2012. He was 68.
