The Polyfuze Method is the second album by Kid Rock, released in 1993 on the independent record label Continuum Records. The Polyfuze Method shows Kid Rock developing a more rap rock sound. In 1997, Kid Rock re-released the album under the title The Polyfuze Method Revisited, but the re-release is also long out of print. The Polyfuze Method Revisited contained three tracks that were not on the original version—"I Am the Bullgod" and "Rollin' on the Island" from Kid Rock's Fire It Up EP, and the demo "Rain Check". There was also a European release of the album that had a different track listing and omitted the skit "TV Dinner".

Contents

"Prodigal Son", "Fuck U Blind" and "My Oedipus Complex" were later completely re-recorded and released on The History of Rock in 2000 along with a shorter version of the original "3 Sheets to the Wind". The vocals for "I Am the Bullgod" were re-recorded for Devil Without a Cause in 1998 and became his first hit song that gained heavy rotation on radio and MTV. During his 1999 tours he performed "Balls in Your Mouth" from the album as well.

Singles

"Back from the Dead" and "U Don't Know Me" were released as singles. "Back from the Dead" was released as a single in 1992 before the album was released and was a minor hit on college radio. After disagreements between Kid Rock and his record label about whether to release "Prodigal Son" or "U Don't Know Me" as a single, the label won and released the latter. The label paid for the very low-budget music videos of "U Don't Know Me" and "Back from the Dead", but due to poor promotion both videos received little to no airplay and performed badly. In 1993, "Prodigal Son" was a promotional single for the Fire It Up EP,as was My Oedipus Complex (Remix). The Back From The Dead single included a radio remix, extended version, instrumental and a cappella version. "U Don't Know Me" depending on the singles release country featured the remixes of radio mix, beyond the doors mix, beyond the doors mix edit, naked booty truth mix, cali boy mix, cali boy instrumental and alt funk mix. Both "U Don't Know Me" and "Back From The Dead" were released on a 1991 sampler for the album. "Back From The Dead", "3 Sheets To The Wind", "Balls In Your Mouth" was on a 1992 sampler of the album. Prodigal Son included a radio mix, down and dirty mix and the echo mix of "In So Deep". "My Oedipus Complex" single's b-side was a raw version of "I Am The Bullgod" with two mixes of "My Oedipus Complex".
