The North Alliance (NoA) is a Nordic consultancy and marketing conglomerate with offices in five countries. Founded in 2014, it is organized as a holding company consisting of the Swedish agencies Åkestam Holst, Great Works, Bold, Promenad, StudioNOC and Evidence; Danish agency &Co; Norwegian agency Anorak and technology business Making Waves; as well as Singapore-based agency Acoustic and NoA Incubator.

Company

The North Alliance companies are communication, design and technology businesses in the Nordic markets. It is a Nordic independent network and have stated ambitions to compete with large multinational companies. Although retaining different names and identities, the companies are 100% owned by The North Alliance. The network employs 450 people in Stockholm, Oslo, Copenhagen, New York, Chicago, Kraków and Singapore. In 2014 the combined turnover was estimated at around €50 million

History

The conglomerate was formed in January 2014 by Thomas Høgebøl, former head of McCann Worldgroup, backed by Finnish private equity fund CapMan Group.

Ownership

The North Alliance has a partnership model in which some 100 employees across the group are active partners, in addition to its majority owner CapMan Group. Following the initial transactions, funds managed by CapMan owns 63% of the North Alliance. The owners of the individual network companies also hold interest in The North Alliance.
