The Journal of Specialised Translation (JoSTrans) is an international, peer-reviewed and web-based journal that provides a dedicated outlet for research in specialised, non-literary translation. Its primary audience consists of Translation Studies scholars and linguists, but is also read by translation and language professionals as well as members of the public interested in intercultural contemporary issues. In addition to articles and reviews, the journal offers video material consisting of interviews with translation scholars and professionals from the translation industry.

Scope
JoSTrans is a multilingual, open-access, electronic journal which aims to provide a space where linguistic, technical and cultural aspects of specialised translation can be examined and discussed. It covers a wide range of areas such as features of specialised language, theoretical and practical issues in translation and interpreting, aspects of training in translation and interpreting, and fields related to professional translation, for instance, revision, post-editing and translation technology.
JoSTrans is a gold open-access journal, which means that its publications are made freely available to the end user via the publisher’s website. The version made available is the final publisher’s version and the work is available immediately, with no embargo periods.
Abstracting and indexing
JoSTrans appears in the main journal directories such as Ulrichsweb [1] and the Directory of Open Access Journals[2] [3] as well as in specialist directories such as the European Society for Translation Studies'[4] resource list and in the Routledge list of major translation journals [5]. It is indexed with the main humanities bibliographies, including ERIH PLUS [6], the MLA (Modern Language Association Index) [7] and John Benjamins’ Translation Studies Bibliography [8]. It has been included for coverage in the Emerging Sources Citation Index in the Web of Science Core Collection by Thomson & Reuters since 2015 [9].
Publication history
JoSTrans has been published bi-annually since January 2004. Since 2007, it has alternated guest-edited thematic issues with non-thematic issues. It was chaired by the late Professor Peter Newmark until his death in 2011.
