The Taylor School District is headquartered the city of Taylor in Greater Detroit in the U.S. state of Michigan. The district, located in the Downriver area southwest of Detroit, has a territory of 25 square miles (65 km2). The district serves Taylor and portions of Brownstown, Dearborn Heights, Inkster, and Westland. As of 2014 it is the largest governmental unit in the Downriver area and the fifth-largest school district in Wayne County.
As of Summer 2013, the Inkster Public Schools District was entirely dissolved. The Taylor school district absorbed some of the Inkster boundary. Students south of Michigan and east of Middlebelt were rezoned to Taylor.
As of 2014 the district has 596 full-time faculty and 148 support staff. The former includes 14 district administrators and 22 school administrators and the latter includes 62 teacher's aides.
