Sulfuryl

The sulfuryl group is a functional group in inorganic chemistry consisting of a sulfur atom covalently bound to two oxygen atoms (O₂SX₂).

It occurs in compounds such as sulfuryl chloride, SO₂Cl₂ and sulfuryl fluoride, SO₂F₂.

In organic chemistry, this group is found in sulfones (RSO₂R') and sulfonyl halides (RSO₂X), where it is called the sulfonyl group.
