Suhell Nafar is a Palestinian filmmaker, animator and musician. He is a member of the first Palestinian hip hop crew, DAM. Nafar starred and narrated in the award-winning documentary Slingshot Hip Hop, which premiered at the 2008 Sundance Film Festival. He is the younger brother of musician Tamer Nafar.
At age 12 Nafar shot and directed his first video. He has since, among others, worked on short documentaries for the PBS TV series Arab American Stories, directed a music video for UN Women, Law Arja Bil Zaman - the music video was also part of "Art/Violence" official selection at the Berlin International Film Festival 2013 - and a short childrens film, Yala to the Moon, which was an official selection at the Toronto International Film Festival 2012. He's worked several times with director Udi Aloni on both features and documentaries.
While Nafar continues to work on films as a writer, director and animator, he also mentors workshops and performs with DAM.
