History
Strictly Rhythm Records artists include Erick Morillo, Todd Terry, Louie Vega, Kenny Dope, Armand Van Helden, DJ Pierre, Roger Sanchez, Josh Wink, Ultra Naté, and Barbara Tucker. Songs recorded for the label include Reel 2 Real’s “I Like To Move It,” Planet Soul's "Set You Free, Logic's "The Warning", Hardrive's "Deep Inside", Ultra Naté’s “Free,” Wamdue Project’s “King Of My Castle,” and Wink’s “Higher State Of Consciousness.”
Strictly Rhythm relaunched in 2007 after a five-year break following a venture with Warner Music. The label made some of its releases available on digital download, and signed new productions from Quentin Harris, Osunlade, Chocolate Puma, Dennis Ferrer, Dirty South and Bob Sinclar. Three years later, in November 2010, the label opened a London office.
Strictly Rhythm is now allowing both new and established artists through its joint-venture label set-up, the Strictly Rhythm Music Group, which currently has 20 labels with partners in the US, UK, Germany, the Netherlands, France, Australia, and Ireland. Recent signings include Jupiter Ace (Big Vision), and Richard Grey (Superficial).
Strictly Rhythm has offices in New York, London, Rome, and Berlin.
In January 2013, BMG Rights Management agreed to acquire the Strictly Rhythm catalogue and publishing rights for an undisclosed cost.
