Stefano Siragusa (born January 29, 1976), is an Italian business executive. He is currently Senior Partner and Managing Director of Bain & Company.

Early life and education

Stefano Siragusa was born in Feltre, Veneto, Italy in 1976. He graduated cum laude in Engineering from Politecnico di Milano in 2000. He completed his education by obtaining an MBA from MIP and an Executive from Harvard. Since 1999, during his study, he worked as product manager for Siemens AG in Germany and Italy.

After his MBA, in 2002 he began his career in The Boston Consulting Group (BCG), global management consulting firm and advisor on business strategy. In BCG, Stefano has worked in the Railway, Aerospace & Defence, Automotive, Steel and Concrete sectors in Europe, Asia-Pacific and particularly in North America where he transferred to join the firm’s Chicago office in 2005. Once back to Italy, in 2011 he became Partner & Managing Director of BCG and was appointed leader of BCG’s industrial goods division for Italy, Greece and Turkey. In 2012 he was also requested to coordinate BCG Aerospace & Defence division in Europe. In 2013 he became a member of BCG’s Global Operations Leadership Team. He moved to New York City with the responsibility of defining and globally coordinating BCG’s content agenda and commercial strategy for Lean, Procurement and Supply Chain topics. December 11, 2013 he was asked to become the CEO and General Manager of Ansaldo STS and he moved back to Italy.

January 1, 2014, at the age of 37 years, he became CEO and General Manager of Ansaldo STS, a multinational company in rail and mass transit systems.

On November 2, 2015 Hitachi Rail Italy Investments completed the purchase of 40% of the share capital of Ansaldo STS from Finmeccanica. In occasion of the acquisition, Stefano Siragusa has been reconfirmed as CEO and General Manager of the Company, with the powers to manage the Company and the Group.

He resigned on March 31, 2016 and he remains in charge until May 13, 2016. During his management new orders grew by 160%, net results by 80%, FCOF by 90%, EBIT by 27% and revenues by about 20%.

He has been the youngest business executive who leads a listed company on the Borsa Italiana for three years.

Career at Bain & Company

On May 16, 2016 he became Senior Partner and Managing Director of Bain & Company with responsibility for the Performance Improvement area and for the Industrial Goods and Services sector.

In March 2017 he was offered to become the CEO of ENAV SpA, but currently he is still a Senior Partner in Bain & Company.

Boards

Since 2017 Stefano Siragusa is Member of the Advisory Board of LUMSA University.

In 2016 Stefano Siragusa has supported the successful IPO of ENAV SpA. In 2017 he has continued to serve ENAV as member of the Board of Directors, Chairman of Remuneration and Nomination Committee and a member of the Risk and Related Party Committee of the Company.

In 2015 and 2016, he has been Chairman of the Board of Directors of Metro 5 SpA.

In the same years, Stefano Siragusa has been member of the Board of Directors and member of the Governance Committee of Saipem SpA.

He has been also member of the Board of Directors of Marangoni SpA in 2015 and 2016.
