Club career
Born in Kampen, Drost started his career in 2005 with SC Heerenveen, but he never got a serious chance to be a leading part in the team. Therefore, he was loaned out to Excelsior, De Graafschap and VVV-Venlo. In the summer of 2010 Drost signed a two-year contract with RKC Waalwijk after he had left Heerenveen on a free transfer. In the summer of 2013, Drost signed with NAC Breda for two seasons, only to leave them for Excelsior on a free in 2015.
Drost returned to RKC in summer 2017.
Personal life
He is the twin brother of former professional football player Jeroen Drost.
