State Super, also known as SAS Trustee Corporation, is an Australian superannuation fund which operates to invest, support and administer defined benefit superannuation schemes on behalf of the New South Wales and associated employers.

STC was established under the Superannuation Administration Act 1996 (NSW), and is the Trustee of the following defined benefit schemes:

  • State Authorities Superannuation Scheme (SASS)
  • State Superannuation Scheme (SSS)
  • Police Superannuation Scheme (PSS)
  • STC also manages the State Authorities Non-contributory Superannuation Scheme (SANCS), which provides additional benefits to members of SASS, SSS and PSS.

    Fund size

    The STC Pooled Fund, which comprises the assets of all four schemes, holds more than $A38 billion in assets (as at 30 June 2013).

    As at 31 December 2012, STC was ranked the 4th largest superannuation fund in Australia and is in the top 100 superannuation funds globally.

    Members

    The STC schemes have more than 121,000 members (as at 30 June 2013). All schemes are closed to new members, and a large portion of the membership have reached or are approaching retirement age.
