History

Before STAR World, STAR Plus was STAR's English language entertainment channel which has started its operations on 1 January 1994 and its Indonesia counterpart was Film Indonesia and India was Zee TV. But after STAR ended its partnership with Soraya Intercine FIlms and Zee Telefilm, STAR changed its content from STAR Plus to launched as STAR World which then was known as STAR PLUS International for a brief time (STAR Plus in India was once combine both US and Hindi entertainment until its full transform into a Hindi entertainment channel).

In 1996, STAR Plus transformed to STAR World with all the letters in the box.

In the mid-2000s, STAR replaced STAR World's main feed (Southeast Asia) with a Philippine-dedicated feed for Filipino viewers.

On November 3, 2008, STAR World revealed its new logo. The new logo is STAR's corporate logo, and a star-O. This also applied to Star Sports (until 2013 in India and until 2014 in Southeast Asia due to upgrade to Fox Sports 2 in Southeast Asia) and Star Movies (until 2011 in some countries due to its upgrade to Fox Movies Premium in Southeast Asia). The 2008 logo is still used in Indian feed.

On November 11, 2010, STAR World once again revealed its new logo (with exception of South Asian feed). The new logo is a diamond star with the trademark swoosh in magenta and the name of the channel in Bariol font. The new logo is set to be adopted universally on January 1, 2011. Star World is the highest rated female-oriented channel in the Philippines.

On March 1, 2012, the Southeast Asian feed of its HD counterpart was replaced with Philippine feed except for the logo and commercial feed.

On January 2013, Star World (Philippine feed) now puts hashtags for shows in the top-left corner.

On November 9, 2013, Star World revealed its new logo for the third and final time, which is all pink with the trademark swoosh in pink and the name of the channel in the same font.
