St. Mary Catholic High School Brockville is the only Catholic high school in Brockville, Ontario. The school's current principal is J.P Elliot, with Christa Monds as the vice-principal.St. Mary CHS excels in academics, arts programs, athletics, and exchange opportunities. Located on Central Avenue in Brockville, Ontario, students are walking distance from many local stores, housing neighbourhoods, and different co-op education placements. The school has a new gym, a resourceful library, a large guidance and special education department, five science classrooms, 4 English classrooms, a construction lab, and a beautiful music room and stage/drama room. St. Mary CHS also features a "cafitorium"(auditorium that is transformed into a cafeteria). The school day commences at 8:05 am and concludes at 2:08 pm. Unlike the local public schools, St. Mary only has four periods per day (excluding lunch), because their periods are 75 minutes long, compared to TISS and BCI who have 60 minute classes.

Student Life
At St. Mary CHS, students are proud to be a crusader. The administration and teachers expect that all students make a significant contribution and effort towards their grades and their community involvement. Students arrive at the school prior to 8:05 in the morning, many on busses from different areas in the county. As the bell sounds at precisely 8:05am, students have around five minutes to organize their books and go to their first period class. The staff is very diligent on order within the classroom. All students (not dependant on the difficulty level of class) can expect an efficient learning and working environment. When students take lunch break, grades 9-12 are free to leave the school to eat at many of the close in proximity restaurants such as Dairy Queen, A&W, Tim Hortons, Chip Stands, as well as Giant Tiger and Quickie. They are expected to be back in time for their third period class.
After the school day concludes at 2:08 pm, students have the opportunity to participate in many extra-curricular activities. It is common that students may find themselves staying after school nearly every day. Some of the extra-curricular activities include (but are not limited to):
Academic Achievement
St. Mary CHS has very high standards for academics. In the past it has obtained a rating of 8.5/10 according to the Fraser Institute report. It honours many students on the honour roll, and has a variety of different courses to accommodate students with different needs and interests. St. Mary has recently built an extremely strong Performing Arts program with courses such as Instrumental Music, Musical Theatre, and Drama. The musical theatre program in particular brings together hundreds of students, in the construction classes to build set, the art class to design set pieces and costumes, drama students to perform, and instrumental music for a live band in the musical production. St. Mary also embraces the bilingual environment it provides for students. Students have the opportunity to continue French studies through to grade twelve.
Uniform Dress
St. Mary CHS students are required to dress in the school uniform, although once a month they have the option to pay $2.00 to wear casual clothes, and to wear spirit wear for free! Uniform infractions result in detention.
Attendance
St. Mary CHS's Attendance Dean, Mr. Matt Reil, does not tolerate skipping class for any reason. Students may be exempt from class by a staff teacher or by their parents. If a student is not able to supply Mr. Reil with a hand written note from a parent or teacher, they receive detention.
