Early life and education

Gisondo was born in Palm Beach County, Florida, to parents Stacey and Ron Gisondo, both ocean engineers. His last name comes from his paternal grandfather, who was Italian. His other three grandparents were Jewish. After he began working frequently, he was homeschooled for several years. He attended Milken Community High School in Los Angeles, graduating in 2014. In 2015, he began attending the University of Southern California's film school first full-time and then part-time before taking time off to work, but he says he plans to finish his education.
Career

Gisondo's television career began at the age of 6. As a child, he loved television and films and to make people laugh. While on a family vacation in Southern California, his mother sent photos of him to talent agencies. This led to an immediate successful audition for a national Pizza Hut commercial. After two years of doing commercials and a few television episodes, the family decided to get more serious with his career. They moved to California in 2007 and he began to concentrate more on television roles. A few years after that, he began to concentrate more on film roles.
Personal life

Gisondo grew up in Florida until moving to South Bay, Los Angeles. He is a resident of Manhattan Beach. He is Jewish and frequently attended Jewish summer camps growing up, and was a camp counselor one year for 7 and 8 year olds, the youngest age group.
When he was away filming Night at the Museum in Vancouver his senior year of high school, he asked co-stars Ben Stiller and Robin Williams to help him film a "promposal" formally asking his girlfriend to senior prom. They filmed a three-minute comedic routine with Crystal the monkey.
