History
SVTM was established in the year 2006. It is located 5 km from Madanapalle near Angallu on the national highway NH205. It is affiliated to Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Anantapur. It is also an ISO 9001:2008 certified institution.
Sir Vishveshwaraiah Institute Of Science & Technology [SVTM] is promoted by the Viswam Educational Society registered in the year 1991. The society is involved in improving both the primary and secondary education of the rural poor of this area. Under its influence, the society is running from LKG to PG since 1991. With the establishment of Technological Institute in the year 2006 the dream of the people located in and around this place is fulfilled. SVTM was established at Angallu with the nobel idea of imparting technical education for the poor in and around Madanapalle, a draught prone area. The required approvals from AICTE, New Delhi and affiliation from JNTU, Anantapur were obtained.
Campus
There are labs,workshops and computer centers within all the blocks of the college. There is a library and information center, sports and indoor and outdoor games.
Transport facilities are available to students with 10 college buses provided.Even students can reach college by RTC buses.Not only for students, transport facility is also provided to staff members.
Academics
The college admits undergraduate students through the state-wide EAMCET exam conducted every year. It offers Bachelor of Technology (BTech) courses in multiple disciplines and Post graduation courses.Besides it provides the facility for attending various workshops on multi topics which avail students a great opportunity to progress in every opportunity they utilize. The Master of Technology (MTech) course is offered to Structural Engineering, Software Engineering, Machine Design, Embedded Systems.The college also offers Master of Business Administration (MBA) courses through its department of management.

Sports
Every year an Inter-Department Fest, an inter-department sports competition is held. Sports in the Fest are basketball, football, cricket, badminton, volleyball, kabaddi, handball, throwball and track and field events.There are indoor games too, along with outdoor games like carroms, chess, table tennis etc. There are tournaments held within SVTM college and also with other colleges.Thus SVTM has excellent focus on sports along with studies.
NSS unit
The main activities of NSS unit are Plantation, Blood donation camp, Services at orphanages and old age homes, Road safety, Anti ragging squads, Medical camps in villages, Environmental awareness and programs, Service to physically and mentally challenged people, issue of Voter ID cards to students and staff, First aid training to students and staff, Fire fighting mock drills. SVTM holds extra curricular activities for students not only permitting to studies and bringing their talents out. These helps them to be successful in all fields.Conducting street cause, NSS are meant for, serving the poor in villages by health check up and providing free medicines.Competitions on road safety measures enables for awareness in order to avoid accidents and loss of lives.
Placement Cell in SVTM
SVTM placement cell was established in 2006 with the objective of creating career opportunities for promising students of SVTM in reputed corporate companies towards meeting aspirations of all the stake holders.
Training & Placement wing of Sir Vishveshwaraiah Institute of Science & Techlology operates year round to facilitate contacts between companies and Engineering & management graduates. It ensures that students have the information and skills necessary for an effective job search.
Research and Development
SVTM has established a research fund to nurture and harness talent from students and faculty of various disciplines.The organization provides necessary facilities for promoting basic research and communicating with R&D agencies in other sectors for expanding and enriching the knowledge base in their respective ideas.
