Shuryshkarsky District (Russian: Шурышкарский райо́н) is an administrative and municipal district (raion), one of the seven in Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug of Tyumen Oblast, Russia. It is located in the southwest of the autonomous okrug. The area of the district is 53,970 square kilometers (20,840 sq mi). Its administrative center is the rural locality (a selo) of Muzhi. Population: 9,814 (2010 Census); 9,559 (2002 Census); 9,001 (1989 Census). The population of Muzhi accounts for 36.8% of the district's total population.
