Dr. Sheetal Amte-Karajgi was an Indian doctor, public health expert, disability specialist and a photographer. She currently heads the Maharogi Sewa Samiti at Anandwan in the state of Maharashtra. She was the daughter of Dr. Vikas Amte and the granddaughter of Baba Amte. In January 2016, she was selected by the World Economic Forum as a 'Young Global Leader 2016'. She was an active member of the South Asian Bridge Initiative that aims to set up constructive philanthropic models in South Asia. In April 2016, she was chosen as an 'Innovation Ambassador' by the United Nations and was an advisor to 'Innovations for Peace', an initiative of the World Summit on Innovation and the United Nations. She was also the recipient of the 2016 INK Fellowship.
