Shane Waldron (born August 17, 1979 in Portland, Oregon) is an American football coach who is the current tight ends coach of the Los Angeles Rams of the National Football League (NFL). He was previously the tight ends coach for the New England Patriots of the National Football League and coach for the Washington Redskins.

Early years

Waldron attended La Salle High School in Portland, Oregon. After a year at Phillips Academy in Andover, Massachusetts, he played football at Tufts University as a tight end and long snapper from 1999 through 2002.
Coaching Career
Waldron served as a graduate assistant for the University of Notre Dame from 2005-2007. Waldron then was hired by the New England Patriots and worked under head coach Bill Belichick, also a Phillips Academy alumnus, as a football operations assistant. In 2005, Waldron followed Patriots offensive coordinator Charlie Weis to the Notre Dame as an offensive graduate assistant, but returned to the Patriots in 2008 as an offensive coaching assistant. He was promoted to tight ends coach following the 2008 season. He left the team after the 2009 and later joined the Hartford Colonials of the United Football League. Waldron was the recruiting coordinator and tight ends coach before being promoted to offensive line coach for the University of Massachusetts Minutemen.
Los Angeles Rams
On February 2, 2017, Waldron was hired to be the tight ends coach for the Los Angeles Rams, under new head coach Sean McVay.
