The Science Spectrum is a hands-on science and technology museum featuring over 250 interactive exhibits, West Texas' only public aquarium, and daily live science shows. Also housed at the museum is the Omni Theater, a 160-degree domed screen movie theater that allows viewers to feel as if they are surrounded by the film.

History
In the fall of 1984, a group of citizens became aware that a science museum would be an enhancement to the educational, cultural, and economic life of the community. For two years they visited and researched science museums across the U.S. and Canada. In the fall of 1986, a board of directors was formed and the Science Spectrum was incorporated. The museum officially opened to the public on February 11, 1989, as a hands-on science and technology museum. It is a 501-C3 nonprofit educational corporation and is a member of the Association of Science and Technology Centers.
Logo
The logo of the Science Spectrum is the prism, first discovered by Sir Isaac Newton. Throughout the ages, light has been associated with knowledge and understanding. As white light is actually the sum of many colors of different wavelengths, the light of knowledge of our world is composed of many different science disciplines. The prism is an appropriate symbol for the adventure to knowledge of the world around us.
