Sauron is a genus of spiders in the family Linyphiidae containing two species in Europe and Asia. Sauron spiders are 1.25 to 2 mm in total length. The genus name derives from the character Sauron from the books of J. R. R. Tolkien.

  • Sauron fissocornis Eskov, 1995 was described from individuals collected in the Saur Mountains of Kazakhstan.
  • Sauron rayi, originally described by Eugène Simon in 1881 as Erigone rayi, occurs throughout Central and Eastern Europe, ranging from France to Russia.
