Sarah (Sophie Desmarais), a gifted runner, moves to Montreal to attend a university with a great athletics program. She marries Antoine to qualify for the best scholarships and finds married life to be very different from what she expected.

Sarah Prefers to Run (French: ) is a 2013 Canadian drama film written and directed by Chloe Robichaud. It was screened in the Un Certain Regard section at the 2013 Cannes Film Festival. It won the Women in Film & Television Vancouver Artistic Merit Award at the 2013 Vancouver International Film Festival.
When Sarah has a chance to go to a first class university and to join its premiere athletic club, her suburban mother is fearful of the change and refuses to help financially. But Sarah's roommate knows that they will get a grant if they marry. Sarah agrees but only to discover that her true heart lies elsewhere. Sarah prefers to run.
