Coming from Ghana, Owusu first played for Red Bull Ghana and Vision F.C. in his youth career. In his first international transfer, he joined FK Radnik Surdulica for the 2014–15 season, and made several appearances in Serbian First League, which his club won that season. He made his Serbian SuperLiga debut in 4th fixture of 2015–16, against Borac Čačak. After scoring several goals and making some assists for the 2015–16 season, PSV Eindhoven began scouting Owusu. In May 2016, Owusu extended his contract with Radnik by a year.

Gençlerbirliği and Ankaragücü

On 24 June 2016, Owusu signed a 3-year contract with Turkish team Gençlerbirliği. Gençlerbirliği paid a sum of €200,000 for Owusu's transfer from Radnik Surdulica. He did not play a single league match during his time at Gençlerbirliği. After being sidelined from light injuries, he moved to Ankaraguču, where he stayed briefly.

On 21 August 2017, Owusu signed a 3-year contract with Serbian team Čukarički, and received the number 19 on his jersey. He made his debut for Čukarički on 25 August 2017, in a 0-1 away win against FK Rad.
