Saiju Kurup has done his primary schooling from SJC, Kamptee, higher schooling from SFS High School, Nagpur and B.E.(Mining) from SRKNEC, Nagpur. He worked at Birla Sunlife and Airtel after completing his education. While Kurup was working with Airtel, he was offered the role of lead actor in Malayalam movie Mayookham.
He got married to Anupama on 12 January 2005, has a daughter named Mayookha born in November, 2005 and a son Aftab born in January, 2015.
