Ruwanga Nirashad Samath (born January 29, 1985) is an American record producer and songwriter born in Sri Lanka. He is best known for his music in blockbuster movies such as Fast and Furious 5 and TED.

Early life

Ruwanga was born in Sri Lanka, and in to a musically influenced environment. His mother, Renuka, is a musician, and so, early on in to his childhood he was introduced to, and surrounded by musicians live performing instrumentals. Ruwanga's music talents is influenced by his Mother's passion for music, and by the island life he was raised in. At the height of the country's unstable political atmosphere and civic war, his family decided to and eventually moved to Pasadena, CA when he was 12. Since then, Ruwanga attended John Muir High School before moving to La Verne, California, and graduating from Bonita High School. After High School, Ruwanga attended Cal State San Bernardino for a year until, he subsequently made the decision to give music his full attention and focus.

Ruwanga has written and produced end title songs for movies such as Fast and Furious 5 (Universal Pictures) Busta Rhymes, Don Omar and J. Doe called "How we Rol l, Morgan Spurlock's The Greatest Movie Ever Sold (Sony Pictures) "CameraBuggin" features Big Boi from the legendary Outkast, as well as Matt & Kim, Gideon's Army (HBO). He has also placed songs in movies such as TED (Universal Pictures), Spare Parts (Lionsgate), Tower Heist (Universal Pictures), You're Next (Lionsgate), Generation Iron, Saw IV (Lionsgate), Christmas in Compton, Son of Morning. Doubletime.

Ruwanga has written and produced theme songs for several theme songs such as History Channel's "Mounted in Alaska", TLC's Unleashed : K9, Lifetime's "Preacher's Daughters" Season 1 & 2, Playboy's "King of Clubs" & Hulu's "Mother Up!"
