Early life & Career
Born in Israel. She studied fine arts at the Art Institute of Israel with work in drawing, calligraphy, painting, sculpture, and photography. Ruth Swissa has built a practice as a licensed medical aesthetician and permanent makeup artist, with a Certified Medical Micropigmentation (CMM) designation. She began her practice in Agoura Hills, California and maintains an active spa salon and studio there. She also has a Beverly Hills location.
She developed from an early career using finely controlled tattooing methods to apply permanent cosmetic makeup, adding micropigmentation skills specifically to address medical needs. She uses three-D style micropigmentation to recreate the aesthetic appearance of the nipple areola complex following reconstructive breast surgery. The process applies only organic color pigments.
Based on referrals from over 27 plastic surgeons, Swissa’s practice has also been successful in treating burn victims and vitiligo.
