Russ Vitale (born September 26, 1992), better known by his stage name and mononym Russ, is an American hip hop recording artist, singer-songwriter and record producer. He is best known for his single "What They Want", which peaked at number 83 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and currently his highest charting single. He is part of the Diemon Crew, a rap group.

Early life

Russ was born September 26, 1992 in New Jersey. He is of Sicilian ancestry. He has also lived in New York, North Carolina and Kentucky. Russ started writing raps in his notebook at 7 years old and started making beats when he was 14. He recorded his first song at 18 years old.
Russ has different right and left eye colors.
Career
In 2016, Russ signed to Columbia Records.He later released the single "What They Want.", which peaked at number 83 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and currently his highest charting single.
Musical style
His early inspirations were G-Unit, 50 Cent and Eminem.
Plagiarism

At the end of August 2016 Russ became known in the Polish media. His clip 'Losin Control' (from February 2016) was accused of being a plagiarism of the clip 'The Fib' (released in September 2015) created for the song of Polish electronic music group Rysy. The alleged similarities relate to the script, characters, film techniques, shots and scenes. The creators of the original version of the clip announced a lawsuit.
