Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya (RGPV) is the State Technological University of Madhya Pradesh. Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya offers undergraduate, postgraduate, integrated and doctorate full-time courses. They specialize in fields like Engineering, Technology and Pharmacy. It is the 29th largest university in the world in terms of, the number of students enrolled in the university, having some 260,000 students.

History
RGPV was established in the year 1998, by Madhya Pradesh Vidhan Sabha Act 13, 1998. The university was established as a common university for all the technical institutes, mainly including engineering and pharmacy colleges in the state of Madhya Pradesh. The university was named after the former Prime Minister of India, Rajiv Gandhi. All the colleges of Engineering, Pharmacy, Science and Technology as well as the Polytechnics affiliated to various universities and Boards of Technical Education are affiliated to the newly set up University of Technology.
Mascot
A falcon, the mascot of RGPV, holds a degree in its beak, portraying the engineers graduating from RGPV. The falcon holds a pen in one of its claws, symbolises the power of expression. The paddy grasped by the other claw represents the productivity and prosperity resulting from the efforts of the graduates in their profession.

Campus
The institution is near Gandhi Nagar on the outskirts of the city, 3 km from the airport on the Gwalior bypass road. The campus is spread over 247 acres (1.00 km2). The main buildings start 1 km from the main gate. The campus has instruction blocks, workshop, library block, nanotechnology block, School of Energy and Environment block and Administrative block. The campus has residential facilities for the staff and separate hostels for boys and girls. The campus is full of greenery and sightseeing locations specially in rainy season. Besides the above-mentioned blocks, the campus includes an Energy Park, Bio-diesel Plant, Medicinal Garden and a number of windmills and solar panels which contribute to the energy sources of the university.
Academics
All course work and examinations for all majors and subjects are conducted with English language as the mode of instruction. Undergraduate courses are given in all engineering fields. Postgraduate courses include Master of Computer Applications (MCA) and Master of Technology (M.Tech) in relevant fields, as well as other Master degrees.Integrated postgraduate course is offered in the six disciplines of engineering with the intake of 20 each
B.E
RGPV offers 4yrs Bachelor of Engineering (BE) programs in advance Technology areas. The students interested in the BE courses being offered by the University, can apply for the admission on the basis of AIEEE — JEE Main (Before JEE Main, admission was through PET)/ 12th Standard marks merit.
Dual degree
Dual Degree Integrated PG Programme is an initiative of Rajiv Gandhi Prodyogiki Vishwavidyalaya to provide quality education to students with extraordinary skills. Started in the year 2011, this programme is offered in the six disciplines of engineering with the intake of 20 each. Duration of this course is Five year. The students of DDI-PG programme will get either BE and MTech degree or BE and MBA degree on the successful completion of the course. This programme is offered in the autonomous UTDs of the university.The students interested in the dual degree courses being offered by the University, can apply for the admission on the basis of JEE Main through separate counselling.
M.Tech
RGPV offers M.Tech Programs in advance Technology areas. The students interested in the PG courses being offered by the University Department can take admission on the basis of GATE / Non GATE merit marks.
The admissions in the PG Courses are done through centralized Counseling organized by University and Department of Technical Education, Government of Madhya Pradesh.
Polytechnic
10th and 12th pass Candidates are eligible for polytechnic 3 years diploma program. State level pre polytechnic test - PPT Entrance exam is compulsory to take admission into 3 year diploma course. RGPV offers 3 year diploma program in various streams – Automobile, Chemical, Civil, Computer Science & Engineering, Electrical, Electronics & Telecommunication, Information Technology, Mechanical, Petro Chemical etc.
B.Pharmacy
RGPV offers 4 yrs Bachelor of Pharmacy (B. Pharm) program through its affiliated Institutions . The students interested in the B. Pharm courses being offered by the University, can apply for the admission on the basis of AIEEE — JEE Main (Before JEE Main, admission was through Pre Pharmacy Test)/ 12th Standard marks merit.
M.Pharmacy
RGPV offers M.Pharm Programs in advance Technology areas through its UTD (SOPS) and affiliated Institutions. The students interested in the PG courses being offered by the University can take admission on the basis of GPAT / Non GPAT merit marks.
