The institute has 60 seats for MBBS undergraduate course. The number of seats is the lowest in the state among government medical colleges and offers more personal attention to each aspiring doctor. Extra curricular

Its main cultural festival is known as "Abhiyaan" which is slowly but surely improving its standard since it was started some twelve years ago. Even though it is a rather small college especially compared to colleges like KEM, JJ or LTMMMC, the students' enthusiasm is bringing it at par with other popular college fests. For example, RGMC conducts Medi-Exhibit which is the medical symposium, Ethnic,RGMC-MARATHON, and Chitrankan-A Photography exhibition which shows the artistic side of doctors with them competing with the professionals have been a front-runner in these trends at least as far as medical colleges of Mumbai are concerned.
