Pratima Bandopadhyay (1933 - 29 July 2004) also known as Pratima Banerjee, was a legendary Bengali playback singer from Kolkata, who sang numerous songs in popular Bengali movies, particularly during the 1950s, 60s and 70s.

Career
Pratima Bandopadhyay was born in Kolkata in 1933 and recorded her first disc in 1946 at the age of 13. She made her debut as a playback singer in the movie "Sunandar Biye" (Sunanda's marriage) in 1951 soon after her marriage. Over the next 3 decades, she sang in more than 30 Bengali movies, including Shap Mochan, Chowringhee, Heerey Manik, etc. She also sang for the Hindi movie Sahara, whose music was produced by noted singer and music director Hemanta Mukherjee. Her songs regularly featured in the All India Radio's hit programme 'Anurodher Asar'.
On 29 July 2004, she suffered a massive heart attack and breathed her last at her residence in Kolkata after suffering from arthritis for long time.
