This album contains seven songs composed by M. S. Viswanathan and T. K. Ramamurthy and written by Kaviarasu Kannadasan. M. S. Viswanathan wanted to compose a song which was different from his compositions before this. So, he tried to compose the song Indha Mandrathil Odi Varum with a mix of Hindustani Classical genre. He made S. Janaki and P. B. Sreenivas to sing that song because they had a smooth kind of voice which matches the Hindustani Classical genre. The album was released under the label Saregama.
