The Pierogi Fest is an annual festival held along 119th Street in downtown Whiting, Indiana. Although it gets its name from the pierogi, a Polish dumpling, there are many other attractions. It lasts for three days on Friday, Saturday and Sunday during late July. It draws crowds from around the Calumet Region, the country and the world. Pierogi Fest has been a registered service mark of the Whiting-Robertsdale Chamber of Commerce since July 29, 2008 under registration number 3476218.

Attractions

Although one of the main attractions is pierogi, there are many other things to do at Pierogi Fest. It is set up on 119th Street in downtown Whiting. The street is only open to foot traffic during the festival. There are food booths set up along the streets serving pierogi, kielbasa and sauerkraut. The main attractions are walking up and down the street tasting food from the many different food vendors, listening to live bands playing, visiting the beer garden, the "dunk a nun" tank and riding some carnival rides.
