Biography
Duffell began his career as a director with episodes of the television series Scotland Yard and the Edgar Wallace Mysteries series of second features for the cinema. He directed episodes of The Avengers, Man in a Suitcase and Strange Report.
Based on his television work Milton Subotsky of Amicus Productions selected him to direct The House That Dripped Blood (1970) though he turned down other Amican films because he did not want to be typecast as a horror director.
In 1973 he wrote and directed England Made Me but continued directing English television shows.
