Peter Blake (born 8 December 1948) is a British actor.

Early life

Peter Blake was born 8 December 1948 in Selkirk, Scotland. He trained at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama. His first professional appearance was at the Edinburgh Festival, in Frank Dunlop's production of The Winter's Tale in 1966. He also worked with the Glasgow Citizens Company.

Television

He has appeared in British television series, including Dear John, Minder, The Professionals, Shoestring, Out, Bergerac, Agony, A Very Peculiar Practice, The High Life, Dogfood Dan & the Carmarthen Cowboy and The New Statesman.

In 2005 he played Sergeant Bill Kent in the detective television program Taggart. Blake also appeared in the BBC comedy, Ever Decreasing Circles, playing Rex Tynan.

His best-known role was Kirk St Moritz in the original, British version of the sitcom Dear John.

In August 2010, he appeared as Ken Tate in EastEnders.

Music

In 1977, he reached number 40 in the UK Singles Chart with the song "Lipsmackin' Rock 'n' Rollin'", performing it on the BBC Television music show Top of the Pops on 29 September 1977.
