Pentagon (Hangul: 펜타곤; stylized as PENTAGON; abbreviated as PTG) is a South Korean boy group formed by Cube Entertainment in 2016. The group consists of 10 members: Jinho, Hui, Hongseok, E'Dawn, Shinwon, Yan An, Yeo One, Yuto, Kino and Wooseok. They were introduced through the Mnet survival show Pentagon Maker. Pentagon released their self-titled debut EP on October 10, 2016.

In December 2015, Cube Entertainment announced that they were preparing to debut a boy group in mid-2016, 4 years after BtoB's debut. On April 26, 2016, Cube revealed its new boy group, Pentagon, with the group trailer "Come into the World."

The final lineup of Pentagon was decided through Mnet's reality program, Pentagon Maker. Pentagon Maker aired online through Mnet's digital content brand, M2, and showcased the members challenging five aspects: Performance, Dance, Teamwork, Talent and Mind. By the end of the show, Hui, Yeo One, Hongseok, Kino, Wooseok, Jinho and Yuto were confirmed as the official members of the group.

On July 9, Pentagon released the collaboration songs "Young" (produced by Dok2) and "Find Me" (produced by Tiger JK). A music video for "Young", featuring members Hui, Yeo One, Kino, Wooseok and Yuto, was also released.

The group was originally scheduled to host their debut concert on July 23, 2016 at Jamsil Indoor Stadium, but Cube Entertainment delayed the concert and debut date of the group because of some internal issues.

2016: Debut with Pentagon and Five Senses

On September 30, 2016, Pentagon were confirmed to debut on October 10, 2016. It was also confirmed that the group would be debuting with 10 members, including the members eliminated from Pentagon Maker, E'Dawn, Shinwon and Yan An.

Pentagon released their first mini album, Pentagon, on October 10. Pentagon is composed of seven tracks, including the single "Gorilla." The group also held their debut showcase on the same day.

They held their first solo concert, "Pentagon Mini Concert Tentastic Vol. 1," on December 6 at the Yes24 Live Hall in Gwangjin District, Seoul. The tickets for the concert were sold out within eight minutes of going on sale. On December 7, the group released their second EP Five Senses, including the single "Can You Feel It."

2017: Japanese debut

On January 22, a music video for "Pretty Pretty", a non-title track from the EP Five Senses, was released.

On March 7, the name of Pentagon's fanclub was officially announced as "Universe". This term was taken from the following lyrics of "Pentagon", on the first mini album: You are my universe / I can be your pentagon.

Pentagon are to release their first Japanese mini album, Gorilla, on March 29.

  • Jinho (Korean: 진호) was born Jo Jin-ho (Korean: 조진호) on (1992-04-17) April 17, 1992 in Daejeon, South Korea. He is a former S.M. Entertainment trainee and an ex-member of SM the Ballad.
  • Hui (Korean: 후이) was born Lee Hwi-taek (Korean: 이회택) on (1993-08-28) August 28, 1993 in Gwacheon, South Korea. He is a former trainee of JYP Entertainment.
  • Hongseok (Korean: 홍석) was born Yang Hong-seok (Korean: 양홍석) on (1994-04-17) April 17, 1994 in Seoul, South Korea. He is a former YG Entertainment trainee and was part of the survival show Mix & Match. Hongseok has lived and studied abroad in Singapore, San Diego, Tianjin and Beijing, and can speak English and Chinese in addition to Korean.
  • E'Dawn (Korean: 이던) was born Kim Hyo-jong (Korean: 김효종) on (1994-06-01) June 1, 1994 in South Jeolla Province, South Korea.
